About the unit 2 East is a Surgical Critical Care Unit, specializing in cardiovascular surgical interventions. We also provide care to patients requiring general surgical interventions. Our nurses possess skills that allow them to demonstrate immense critical thinking and physical assessment skills which sets them apart as they continually manage acutely ill patients. The unit staff is comprised of RNs (registered nurses), NTs (nurse technicians) and CAs (clinical assistants).
