Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled compassionate Pediatric ICU Nurse you will provide excellent patient care to pediatric patients in the critical care setting. In addition to providing care to these patients PICU RN’s offer support to the parents, with a focus on emotional encouragement and education. Our team works hard to support each other, we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. 

In this role:

• You will perform life-sustaining care for pediatric patients in the ICU.
• You will be able to evaluate and document each patient’s response to interventions and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.
• You will have demonstrated knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. This includes a sound knowledge of emergency medications.
• You will work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
• You will educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans and at home care procedures.
• You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

Qualifications:

• Current State of Idaho or Compact Registered Nurse License.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification. Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
• ENPC or TNCC within 18 months of hire
• One to two years of recent critical care experience preferred.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region.
