Job Summary and Qualifications 

Wound Care Registered Nurse  PRN

What you will do in this role: 

The Wound Care RN leads in theassessing, planning,implementingand evaluating the care of patients inthe Advanced Wound Care Center with the goal of preventing hospital-acquired infections andfacilitatethe healing of patients who present admission wounds.   Develops,revisesand implements ostomy and wound policies and procedures (evidence basedpractice) 

• Develops,revisesand implements ostomy and wound order sets (evidence basedpractice) 
• Consults and develops plans of care (per nursing process and scope) for patients with ostomies and wounds (evidence basedpractice) 
• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served 
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures 
• Documents all required components of patient care 
• Facilitates and supports ongoing ostomy and wound care education for staff members 
• Collects,analyzesand reports essential information related to wound prevalence, woundincidenceand departmental operations toappropriate bodies 
• Leads and/orparticipateson performance improvement teams 
• Acts as liaison between Centennial Medical Center and internal/external customers 
• Supports the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values  

Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors,co-workersand all other customers. Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission,visionand values of Horizon. Assistin coordinating the department’s participation in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. 

What qualifications you will need: 

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred 
• Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing. 
• Excellent interpersonal,oraland written communications skills. 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare ProviderCertificationrequiredwithin30 daysof hire or promotion
• Current CWON or CWOCN certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
